Four of the Muskegon area’s top high school soccer players — Fruitport’s Jorge Burgos Yack, Fremont’s Deagan Klimek, North Muskegon’s Dallyn Ellis, and Western Michigan Christian’s Carter Heimiller — have been named to the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association (MIHSSCA) All-State First Team after stellar seasons on the pitch.
Elite Talent Recognized Across the Region
West Michigan continues to prove itself as a hotbed for high school soccer excellence. Four standouts earned first-team all-state honors, showcasing the talent and depth across local programs.
Jorge Burgos Yack, Fruitport senior forward, capped a brilliant career by leading the Trojans to the Division 2 regional semifinals. After an honorable mention nod as a sophomore and first-team honors last year, Burgos Yack closes his high school run as a two-time first-teamer.
Deagan Klimek, Fremont senior forward, spearheaded the Packers’ 21-1-2 campaign, highlighted by a trip to the Division 3 state semifinals. His breakout year solidified him as one of Michigan’s most dynamic offensive threats.
Dallyn Ellis, North Muskegon senior forward, guided his squad to the Division 4 regionals, earning a promotion from second team to first after another electric season up front.
Carter Heimiller, Western Michigan Christian junior midfielder, anchored a youthful Warriors team that battled into the district finals. Known for his control and creativity, Heimiller returns next season as one of the state’s top juniors.
Fruitport’s Banner Season
Few programs matched the balance of athletic and academic success seen at Fruitport this fall.
In addition to Burgos Yack’s first-team accolade, Hudson Hazekamp (second team), Mason Kettel, and Davis Johnson (both honorable mention) joined the all-state ranks.
All four players were also named All-Region, while Satchel Norwood, Ryder Merkins, Ryder Doherty, Ryder Chan, Mason Kettel, Jorge Burgos-Yack, Jayden Booker, Hudson Hazekamp, Davis Johnson, and Carter Gregor earned All-District distinction.
The Trojans also excelled in the classroom: Norwood, Merkins, Riley Kanaar, Owen Tromp, Kettel, Johnson, and Carson Maiden were recognized as Academic All-State honorees.
