Western Michigan Christian sweeps GMAA Cross Country: Top Performances and Key Moments

Girls and Boys Results!

This past weekend, the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association hosted its highly anticipated annual Cross Country races. Bringing together every school in Muskegon County teams on a brisk morning for some XC action!

Even so, Western Michigan Christian decided it was their day to take some championships! They sweeped both the boys and girls races, with scores of 48 (Boys) and 40 (Girls). Leading those packs were Matthias Morse with a time of 16:39.14 and Grace VanderKooi, with a time of 19:08.48.

Boys: Individual

 Vincent Pollock from Fruitport clinched the first place with a remarkable time of 16:29.45. Close on his heels, Matthias Morse from Muskegon Western Michigan Christian secured the second spot with a time of 16:39.14. Whitehall’s Stewart Waters rounded out the top three, finishing in 16:52.15. 

Boys: Team

Leading the pack, Muskegon Western Michigan Christian secured the top spot with an impressive score of 48. Close behind, Whitehall and Montague claimed second and third places with scores of 55 and 77, respectively.

Girls: Individual

The event showcased some outstanding performances, with Grace VanderKooi from Muskegon Western Michigan Christian leading the pack with a time of 19:08.48. Her teammate, Morgan Lawrence, followed closely with a time of 19:53.55, securing second place. Jersi Bilek from Muskegon Reeths-Puffer claimed third place with a time of 20:16.30.

Girls: Team

 Muskegon Western Michigan Christian emerged victorious with a stellar score of 40 points, showcasing their dominance. Muskegon Mona Shores followed in second place with 69 points, while Muskegon Reeths-Puffer secured third with 71 points. Fruitport and Whitehall rounded out the top five with scores of 75 and 88 points, respectively.
