WHITEHALL — On Wednesday, May 7th, five Whitehall athletes across three sports signed National Letters of Intent to their respective schools. Kal Koehler and Cy Black signed to Aquinas College to continue their basketball careers, while Brock Morningstar is heading to Aquinas for baseball. Nate Betz signed to Eureka College for baseball, and Blake English will be taking his football talents to Adrian College.
Morningstar is a three-year starter on the diamond for the Vikings, serving as their ace this season and playing all over the infield. Across 30 innings of work on the mound this season, Morningstar boasts a 2.28 ERA and has struck out 36 batters. At the dish, the three-sport athlete (baseball, football, and basketball) is hitting .319 with 11 RBIs this season.

Koehler, since making the jump to varsity basketball as a freshman, has proved himself to be one of the best in the West Michigan Conference. This past winter, the Viking forward averaged 13.2 points per game, as well as snagging five rebounds a night. Koehler received many accolades throughout his high school career and will now carry his talents to Aquinas.
