Whitehall’s boys soccer team appears to be in a good spot entering Thursday’s key West Michigan Conference match at North Muskegon.

The Vikings posted their second-straight shutout, blanking visiting Ravenna 3-0 on Tuesday.

Whitehall improved to 5-8-1 overall and 3-1 in West Michigan Conference play. Ravenna is 4-6-3 and 0-4-1, respectively.

“We have stopped making some large-scale mistakes,” said Whitehall coach Bryan Mahan, whose squad is still a bit shorthanded. “They have settled down, they’ve stopped sticking, they communicate more and we are in better positions.”

The Vikings jumped on the Bulldogs early. They scored two goals in the first 15 minutes. The final tally came in the second half.

Connor Reid, Kyren Bluhm and Jack Houtteman scored goals for the Vikings. Houtteman, Jack McDowell and Yahir Gonzalez notched assists.

Andon Palmer recorded the shutout in net for Whitehall.
