Whitehall makes it 19-0 with senior night boys basketball rout vs. Manistee

Next up for Vikings is a big home game against Ludington Friday night.

On senior night Tuesday, it was fitting that four of the top five scorers in the game for Whitehall’s boys basketball team were seniors.

Of course, Vikings junior Camden Thompson did his thing, too.

Thompson finished with 19 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and one block in Whitehall’s 73-32 victory over visiting Manistee as the Division 2 fifth-ranked Vikings ran their record to 19-0.

Seniors Ca’Mar Ready (13 points), Trannon Aylor (11), and DJ Jamison (11) also scored in double-figures for Whitehall, while senior Lavar Dean added seven points. Ready had three assists, Aylor grabbed three rebounds, and Jamison notched three rebounds and two blocks. Dean did a bit of everything with five rebounds, two steals, and one block.

Whitehall now sets its sights on a big home game Friday, when Ludington pays a visit. The Vikings and Orioles shared the West Michigan Conference Lakes Division title last season.

Whitehall brings a 9-0 Lakes record into Friday’s showdown, while Ludington is 12-5 overall and 7-1 in the division. On Jan. 5 at Ludington, Whitehall pulled out a 64-62 victory.

Meanwhile, Manistee is now 9-10 overall and 2-8 in the WMC Lakes. No stat leaders or details were submitted for the Mariners.
