Whitehall Takes the WMC Girls Golf Championship at Old Channel Trail

We are at the climax of the girls golf season and today had no shortage of competition. Whitehall takes the WMC championship, with a 375 today, they take the overall chip and narrowly (by 3 strokes) edged out Montague (378) to take the win at conference event #5. Leading the pack for Whitehall was Riley Shafer (89) who also went on to win the event in singles play. Whitehall as a team played very well, with 3/5 players finishing in the top 10. For Montague, Braylyn Bultema (91) was the lead. Following was Cadence Fox (92) and Brynlee Kessler (94). Following Montague was North Muskegon (400).

Whitehall finishes out the season on top, winning the final event and averaging a 376.4 on the season. The Vikings were lead by senior Grace McDowell who would scored well in every event. Montague followed closely behind, averaging a 393.6 and North Muskegon trailing them with a 406.6 average.

On the singles side of the match, Riley Shafer took the win. She finished with an impressive 17-over, 89. Following her was a Whitehall-Montague back and forth, with Braylyn Bultema (Montague), Grace McDowell (Whitehall), Cadence Fox (Montague), Morgan Garcia (Whitehall), and Brynlee Kessler (Montague).

Grace McDowell took the conference win, winning with an average score of 86.5. She did not score more than 90 for an impressive win. Following her was Riley Shafer, averaging 88 and Cadence Fox averaging 92.5.
