Ashton Trnka achieved a lot during his tennis career at Whitehall High School, including winning a Coastal Conference championship during his senior season.

He’s ready to begin chasing new pursuits.

Trnka will be continuing his academic and athletic careers at Alma College. On Thursday, Whitehall held a signing ceremony at the high school.

Trnka chose Alma College over Calvin University. He plans to study pre-med with the intention of attending medical school after Alma.

As Whitehall’s No. 1 singles player, Trnka amassed a 22-8 overall record during his senior season. He was named first-team all-conference, first-team all-area and all-state honorable mention.

Trnka finished runner-up in the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association tournament. He was a regional finalist and earned a berth in the Division 3 state finals.

Additionally, Trnka was an all-academic scholar athlete. He also was a finalist for the 2021 VanDyk Mortgage West Michigan Conference Player of the Year award.
