There were three nonleague boys basketball games in the West Michigan Conference on Wednesday evening.
Whitehall hosted Ludington and Montague hosted Manistee. Both White Lake area teams battled against future league opponents who will join the WMC in the fall of 2022. In addition, Hart hosted Grand Rapids West Michigan Aviation Academy.
The roundup on the three competitions is listed below:
WHITEHALL 57, LUDINGTON 54 (OT): The host Vikings trailed the Orioles 22-28 at the break after a slow offensive start. In the third quarter, Whitehall found its groove and scored 17 points while holding Ludington to only seven. Down the stretch, offensive contribution from several Vikings and some stellar defense forced the game to OT. In OT, Whitehall managed to find the edge, defeating it’s future league opponent by a margin of three.

MONTAGUE 65, MANISTEE 37: The Montague boys basketball team celebrated senior night with a dominate performance over future league opponent Manistee on Wednesday night. The Wildcats jumped out to a 39-14 lead after the first half. 11 different players contributed to Montague’s offense in the nonleague victory.

GR WEST MICHIGAN AVIATION ACADEMY 77, HART 42: The host Pirates struggled defensively in the first half after giving up 44 points to the visiting Aviators. The offensive talent from GR WMAA continued to fill the basket and closed out the remainder of the nonleague matchup with a 35 point advantage.
