WMC girls basketball: Hart clinches league title at Montague; Whitehall claims road victory over MCC

Shelby, Oakridge add tallies to win column

HART 47, MONTAGUE 35: At Montague, the visiting Pirates used an early 11-0 run to gain an advantage over the Wildcats. Down the stretch, some clutch free throw shooting and a double-double from Hart freshman Addi Hovey were the difference for the Pirates en route to clinching the league title.

WHITEHALL 29, MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 24: At Mason County Central, the host Spartans looked to complete the league sweep over Whitehall. Both teams were even at 16 after one half of play. However, an 8-1 fourth quarter resulted in a victory for Whitehall.

SHELBY 44, RAVENNA 21: At Shelby, the host Tigers caught fire in the second quarter outscoring the Bulldogs 16-3 leading to a 18-8 halftime advantage. Shelby’s hot offense continued into the second half as they walked away with the victory.

OAKRIDGE 34, NORTH MUSKEGON 20: At Oakridge, the host Eagles held the Norse scoreless in the second quarter to gain a 23-8 advantage heading into halftime. Oakridge held the lead in the second half to claim victory on it’s senior celebration night.
