MONTAGUE 50, MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 39: Montague seemed to have made substantial progress in their league victory against MCC on Thursday night, per Montague coach Nick Thaler. The host Wildcats jumped to a 6-point advantage over the Spartans in the first quarter, but an even 2nd quarter resulted in a narrow 27-21 halftime score in favor of Montague. The ‘Cats slowly chipped away late in the game to broaden the deficit and earn their seventh conference win.

In a post game email, Thaler credited the team victory to some improved communication and team bonding. Some missing teammates also served as extra motivation. This improvement resulted in lockdown defense and increased energy for Montague as they navigate their way through the second half of the season.
