WMC girls basketball: Oakridge stuns Shelby with balanced team effort

Hart and Whitehall pick up runaway road victories.

With Montague and Mason County Central playing Thursday in West Michigan Conference girls basketball, only three games were on the slate Friday.

Oakridge’s home upset win over Shelby was easily the biggest surprise of the night.

OAKRIDGE 32, SHELBY 27: At Oakridge, the host Eagles’ 9-4 scoring advantage in the second quarter proved the difference in pulling the upset.

HART 60, RAVENNA 21: At Ravenna, the visiting and first-place Pirates raced out to a 17-6 first-quarter lead and extended the margin to 38-10 by halftime. Hart had 20 assists on 22 baskets.

WHITEHALL 53, NORTH MUSKEGON 14: At North Muskegon, the visiting Vikings dominated from start to finish en route to posting a third-straight dominating conference win.
