WMC girls basketball: Montague, Hart complete rivalry sweeps; Ravenna sneaks by North Muskegon

Additionally, Mason County Central sinks Oakridge

MONTAGUE 38, WHITEHALL 25: At Whitehall, the rivalry reconvened between the Vikings and the visiting Wildcats. After winning their Dec. 14 matchup 45-27, Montague was looking to complete the sweep.

A gritty battle in the first quarter left a 12-11 advantage in the Vikings’ favor. The Wildcat defense turned it up a notch to shutout Whitehall in the second quarter and turn the tables resulting in a 19-12 Montague advantage at the break.

Down the stretch, Montague cleaned up their game to outscore Whitehall 19-13 in the second half. The Wildcat defense was the difference maker once again as they picked up their eighth league win.

Montague leaders:

Kendall Osborne 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists

Claire Meacham 10 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks

Emma Dyer 6 points, 2 rebounds

Whitehall leaders:

Charley Klint 7 points

HART 60, SHELBY 25: At Hart, the host Pirates jumped ahead with a 19-6 first-quarter advantage capitalizing on turnovers and remained unbeaten in the league.

MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 47, OAKRIDGE 35: At Oakridge, the visiting Spartans outscored the Eagles 25-14 in the second and fourth quarters combined to pull away.

RAVENNA 27, NORTH MUSKEGON 26: At North Muskegon, the visiting Bulldogs pulled out the tight victory for their second league win of the season.
