WMC wrestling: Montague drops dual, hosts conference tournament on Saturday

Wildcats also hosting team districts next Wednesday.

Montague’s wrestling team capped its regular season Thursday night with a 54-24 dual-meet loss at Division 1 Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central.

The defeat leaves the Wildcats with an 11-10 dual record.

Montague’s Jimmy Thommen, Chris Aebig, Cale Coppess and Tristan Winkleblack each won by fall, while Savannah Winkleblack, Presley Davis and Ava Pelton also won matches for the Wildcats.

Montague returns to action Saturday, as the Wildcats host the West Michigan Conference tournament. Action begins at 9 a.m.

Next week, Montague will host team districts on Wednesday.
