3 West Michigan Conference boys basketball teams play in regionals Monday (March 14)

North Muskegon and Ravenna to clash, while Whitehall is still going, too.

Whitehall and Ravenna made some long-awaited history on Friday, while North Muskegon added another piece of hardware to the trophy case.

All three boys basketball teams from those schools captured district championships and advance to regional play, which begins Monday (March 14, 2022). In fact, two of them are squaring off.

Ravenna (15-6) and North Muskegon (15-8) will meet in a Division 3 regional semifinal at Carson City-Crystal — more than an hour due east of Ravenna. Tip-off time is 5:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, Whitehall (17-5) faces Sparta (11-12) in a Division 2 regional semifinal at Forest Hills Eastern. That game also begins at 5:30 p.m.

On Friday, Whitehall defeated Montague, 57-39, to capture the first district title since 2007. Ravenna beat Montabella, 56-53, on Kyle Beebe’s last-second 3-pointer for the Bulldogs first district crown since 2002. North Muskegon took care of Holton, 48-33, for a second-straight district championship.
