This week’s Player of the Week nominees delivered in the biggest moments of the season, turning conference races and championship hopes in their teams’ favor. From a historic pitching milestone on the baseball diamond to a dominant undefeated softball run and an explosive offensive showcase that kept a title defense alive, these athletes stepped up when the pressure was highest. Each nominee produced eye-popping numbers, but more importantly, they made game-changing impacts that helped define the week across West Michigan athletics.
Dylan May — Ravenna Baseball
Dylan May rose to the occasion in one of the biggest baseball matchups of the season, throwing a complete-game shutout in a 1-0 win over Shelby to keep Ravenna tied atop the WMC Rivers standings. May struck out 10 batters, allowed just three hits, and became Ravenna’s all-time strikeout leader with 300 career strikeouts. His dominance on the mound came in a pressure-packed conference title race game.
Reese Herremans — Ravenna Softball
Reese Herremans powered undefeated Ravenna through a huge conference week with an incredible offensive performance against North Muskegon. She combined to go 7-for-8 with three doubles, a triple, six RBI, and six runs scored in a doubleheader sweep. Herremans helped Ravenna improve to 24-0 overall and continue its dominant run through the WMC Rivers Division.
Bronson Hurst — North Muskegon Baseball
Bronson Hurst delivered a monster offensive performance in North Muskegon’s 18-0 victory over Mason County Central. Hurst finished with four hits, including a home run and two doubles, while driving in five runs. His explosive game sparked one of the Norsemen’s most dominant wins of the season and helped keep them in the hunt for another conference championship.
