Welcome to the CatchMark SportsNet: Player of the Week, where we celebrate the unsung heroes and rising stars who light up the local sports scene! Each week, we put the spotlight on three extraordinary athletes who not only rack up impressive stats but also inspire their teammates and elevate their game.

At the end of this article, you’ll find a poll where you can cast your vote for the athlete you believe deserves the title of Player of the Week. The poll will be open for one week, starting today and ending on the following Friday (August 30, 2024). Athlete 1: Trevor Trevino, Senior, Montague Boys Soccer

Senior Trevor Trevino unleashed a goal-scoring frenzy this week, burying Comstock Park under an avalanche of six goals. His offensive onslaught propelled the Wildcats to a victory over the Panthers’. This solidifies his position as the Cats’ leading scorer for the season.

Athlete 2: Emmanuel Ortega, Senior, Hart Boys Soccer

Ortega, a senior at Hart High School. Delivered a hat trick in the Pirates’ game this week against Suttons Bay. Highlighting his goals, was a penatly kick from just outside the penatly box to the opposite side of the net. His second goal, was a penatly shot inside of the box and his third was off a corner kick to the bottom half of the net.

Athlete 3: Bobby Jazwinski, Sophomore, Boys Cross Country

The sophomore distance runner set the Benzie Pete Moss Invite ablaze with a 15:57.1! This remarkable performance comes off the heel of an already impressive freshman season, where he consistently delivered low 16-minutes times.

Conner Raeth began his journey at CatchMark as an intern in October 2020, while studying Internet, Network, and Security Technologies at the Muskegon Career Tech Center. His dedication and expertise led him to a full-time role as a Help Desk Technician in mid-2022, post-graduation. Today, he excels as the Digital Content Lead for CatchMark’s SportsNet platform, leveraging his technical knowledge to drive its success.
