‘Hot Seat:’ Montague’s Nick Moss can run, hit, field, and give a great interview

Standout middle infielder for the Wildcats hopes to lead his squad to another conference title.

MONTAGUE – CatchMark SportsNet’s Tate Stine recently sat down with Nick Moss, a senior standout for Montague’s baseball team, for Episode 1 of the 2023 spring sports “Hot Seat.”

Hot Seat is very much like the “Ice Breaker,” a segment shot during the winter sports season. In the series, student-athletes, coaches or other personalities from the West Michigan Conference are posed a series of rapid-fire questions by Stine.

In this episode, Moss was presented a series of questions about baseball along with topics about himself away from the diamond.

During the 2022 season, Montague went unbeaten in the West Michigan Conference, captured a district title and advanced to the regional finals before losing a 6-5 heartbreaker to Lansing Catholic. Moss was indispendable for the Wildcats squad, leading the team in batting average (.350), on-base percentage (.445), hits (42), runs scored (34) and stolen bases (39).

Moss intends on leading Montague to more success this season and add to his legacy. The Wildcats, who are now coached by Jeff Moss, Nick’s father, dropped their first two games against tough Mona Shores and Fruitport opponents but they look to contend in the WMC Lakes Division.
