‘Hot Seat:’ Distance runners from Hart pull close on the track and as friends

Senior Audrianna Enns and freshman Jessica Jazwinski are both forces for the Pirates.

It’s hard to talk about Hart’s highly successful track and cross country programs without mentioning the Ackley or Enns surnames.

Of course, the Jazwinski family is firmly in the mix now, too.

Earlier this week, CatchMark SportsNet’s Scott DeCamp caught up with (not literally) senior Audrianna Enns and freshman Jessica Jazwinski for the final “Hot Seat” episode of the 2022 spring sports season.

They’re two of the leading runners on the Pirates’ girls track and field team, which has captured West Michigan Conference and Division 3 regional titles in the last couple weeks. On Saturday, Hart will head to Clare for the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association team state finals.

Watch Episode 8 of the Hot Seat in the video at the top of this story. The Hot Seat is a weekly video series hosted by DeCamp, in which he fires off questions of the mostly fun and occasionally off-kilter variety. The idea is to engage student-athletes and put their personalities on display.

Enns and Jazwinski both helped Hart claim a fifth straight Division 3 cross country state title in the fall. Now, they’re among the top mid- to long-distance runners on the track in West Michigan.

Enns won the 800-meter run championship in last Friday’s regional meet at Mason County Central in 2 minutes, 16.25 seconds. She was third in the event at Wednesday’s West Michigan Invitational Track Meet with a personal-record time of 2:15.65.

Jazwinski was champion of the 1600 (5:03.79) and 3200 (11:04.46) in last week’s regional. At the West Michigan invite, she posted a PR of 2:14.32 in the 800 for a runner-up finish.

Additionally, Enns and Jazwinski were both members of Hart’s first-place 4×800 relay team (9:54.36) at the regional.

DeCamp, Enns and Jazwinski cover a lot of ground in this week’s Hot Seat. Check it out!
