Jaleen Dingledine Shatters State Record with 11 Goals in One Game

On April 25, 2005, Jaleen Dingledine, a sophomore at Newaygo High School, set a state record for the most goals scored in a single game, netting an astounding 11 goals in Newaygo’s decisive victory over Remus Chippewa Hills. This historic achievement eclipsed the previous record of nine goals set by Sarah DuBay of Monroe against Carleton Airport on May 7, 2001.

Dingledine’s remarkable feat was a display of exceptional skill, athleticism, and determination. From the opening whistle, she dominated the field, weaving through defenders with ease and demonstrating precise finishing abilities. Her performance not only secured a memorable win for Newaygo but also etched her name into the annals of Michigan high school sports history.

Jaleen Dingledine’s record-breaking game is not the only highlight of her illustrious soccer career. Following her high school success, she continued to shine on the collegiate stage at Grand Valley State University. As a key player for the Lakers, Dingledine played a pivotal role in leading the team to national championships during her junior and senior seasons in 2009 and 2010.

Dingledine’s journey from a record-setting high school athlete to a national champion in college serves as an inspiration to young athletes everywhere. Her legacy at Newaygo and Grand Valley State University will undoubtedly be remembered for years to come.
