Kal Koehler drains four 3’s in Whitehall’s 23-point win over Reeths-Puffer

Whitehall’s big three (Thompson, Koehler, and Morningstar) shine in win.

MUSKEGON – Whitehall big man Kal Koehler finished the night, shooting 10-12 from the field and 4-5 from beyond the arc. The senior tallied a game-high 21 points and helped the Vikings extend their winning streak to four games. Camden Thompson put up yet another double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds.

The schools faced off Tuesday night in a non-conference contest, marking their first meeting since 2020.

Whitehall led after the first quarter, but not by much. Reeths-Puffer held its own early trailing just four points.

The Vikings would soon find its stride late in the first half when they would get a pair of triples from Koehler and senior Brock Morningstar. Morningstar finished with 8 points. Whitehall would continue to pour it onto the Rockets in the second half and resulted in a 66-43 victory.

Despite the loss, RP’s Marvin Moore went on full display Tuesday night. Moore finished with 18 points including a plethora of threes all around the arc.

Whitehall improves to (8-2, 4-0 WMC Lakes) and will travel to Fremont on Friday for the third of five consecutive road games.

Reeths-Puffer falls to (2-7, 1-0 OK-Green) and will head across Muskegon to face Mona Shores on Friday.
