Ludington defends home court in 67-39 win over Orchard View

Balance scoring leads to a bounce back win for Ludington.

LUDINGTON – Cam Gunsell led all scorers with 13. Brody Kaminski and Taj Williams follow Gunsell with 12 and 11 of their own. Yaseen Davis led the Cardinals with 11, Tyshawn Smith followed with 9.

After the first quarter, Ludington led 19-10. Mid-way through the second quarter, the Orioles took advantage of some Cardinal turnovers which led to fast break buckets. Heading into the half, Ludington’s lead grew to 19 points. Orchard View was outscored by just nine points in the second half, but ultimately dropped yet another conference game 67-39.

OVERVIEW

Ludington ups its record to (7-4, 6-1) after Thursday night’s win. With their only loss coming to Whitehall, the Orioles find themselves conformably in second place on Lakes side of the WMC.

Orchard View’s season has been on the complete opposite trajectory following the loss. The Cardinals came into the night on a three-game win streak but with the loss they fall to (4-7, 2-3) and are in 4th place in the Lakes division.

LOOKING AHEAD

Ludington: Hosts Cadillac (5-4) on January 13th.

Orchard View: Travels to Wyoming Potter’s House Christian (3-5) on January 14th.
