CatchMark SportsNet student volunteer Emily Vanderstelt captured several images from Oakridge’s baseball sweep of visiting Ludington on Tuesday (April 11).

See the images above as well as some details below from the Eagles’ 6-0 and 4-1 victories over the Orioles:

  • In Game 1, Oakridge broke the game open with three runs in the fourth inning. Game 2 was similar to the first as it began as a pitcher’s duel.
  • Brody Jennings earned the pitching win for Oakridge in the first game. The right-hander allowed four hits in six innings with six strikeouts and two walks. Matt Danicek pitched the final inning in relief.
  • Michael Wambaugh led the Eagles at the plate in Game 1 by going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Gage Lowry drove in two runs, while Jennings and Evan Miller scored three and two runs, respectively.
  • Nathan Dillehay took the Game 1 loss for Ludington. He allowed four runs on four hits with six strikeouts and one walk in four innings.
  • In Game 2, Oakridge scored two runs in the fourth and fifth innings to overcome an early 1-0 deficit.
  • Wambaugh earned the win in the second game for Oakridge, while Adrian LaNore picked up the save in the contest that was called after the sixth inning because of darkness.
  • Miller, Jennings and Danicek each had two hits and two runs scored for Oakridge in the second game. Jennings also had two RBIs.
  • Oakridge’s Aiden Johnston executed a “perfect” suicide squeeze to get his team jump-started in the fourth inning, coach Brandon Barry said.
  • Matt Westhouse drove in Ludington’s lone run in Game 2, scoring Dillehay.
  • Jonny Weinert took the Game 2 loss for Ludington. He allowed four runs on four hits in 4 2/3 innings.
