The West Michigan softball scene delivered another packed week of action, highlighted by dominant championship performances from Ravenna and Fremont. The Division 3 No. 3-ranked Bulldogs powered through Hart and Unity Christian with overwhelming performances, clinching the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division championship behind milestone pitching, explosive offense, and two historic outings in the circle. Meanwhile, Fremont officially secured the 2026 WMC Lakes Division title after finishing conference play at 9-1. Across the area, Whitehall and Shelby split an entertaining rivalry doubleheader, Mona Shores flexed its strength against Shelby, and Ludington faced difficult tests against Oakridge and Coopersville as teams continued gearing up for district play.
Ravenna Bulldogs Dominate Their Way to Rivers Division Title
Ravenna left no doubt about who controls the WMC Rivers Division.
The Bulldogs swept Hart in commanding fashion, winning 19-0 and 15-0, before following it up with another dominant 15-3 victory over Division 2 No. 8-ranked Unity Christian.
The headline performance came from star pitcher Natalie Rosel, who tossed a no-hitter against Hart in game one while recording her 500th career strikeout milestone. Rosel struck out 10 and allowed just one walk in the victory.
Ravenna’s offense exploded from the opening inning. Reese Herremans finished with a double and a home run, Emily Postema collected three hits including a triple, and Sydney Morrissey added three hits of her own. Rosel and Kendyl Luce each chipped in two hits.
The Bulldogs somehow got even better in game two.
Sophie Robinson fired a perfect game, striking out five over three innings while Ravenna’s offense continued to hammer Hart pitching. Rosel homered and doubled while Postema also blasted a home run in the 15-0 victory that officially secured the Rivers Division championship.
Ravenna carried that momentum into a marquee non-conference showdown against Unity Christian, another state-ranked opponent. The Bulldogs needed only three innings to earn a 15-3 win.
Riley Homoly and Robinson each went 3-for-3 at the plate while Rosel homered again and struck out seven in the circle. Postema added another big day with two hits, including a triple.
The Bulldogs improved to 31-1 overall and finished a perfect 12-0 in conference play, firmly establishing themselves as one of the state’s premier Division 3 programs heading into postseason play.
