Shelby Tigers Season Review: Tigers Win Three Games

Shelby has best season since 2013.

Shelby opened its season with a win against White Cloud. Since the 2021 season, White Cloud and Shelby scheduled each other to kick of the season. The Tigers won the game this year after losing the previous three. The last time Shelby one its season opener was in 2013 when they made a run all the way to the regional semifinal.

Issac Garcia led the team at quarterback with DayDay Garcia being a versatile weapon as well.

In the win over White Cloud, Garcia threw for threw for three touchdowns and ran for two. Garcia picked up a pick six on the side accounting for six total touchdowns. Shelby would go on to win 59-20.

The rough sledding for the Shelby would begin the following week when North Muskegon would go on to dismantle the Tigers 43-7.

Shelby would pick up its second win in week five against Hesperia in a game that came down to the wire. Shelby converted on three two-point conversations. DayDay Garcia and Jaylin Henderson both caught a touchdown pass. In what would feel like the most complete game Shelby has played in a while; the Tigers would win 30-25.

  • Week 2 – North Muskegon defeated Shelby 43-7
  • Week 3 – Hart defeated Shelby 30-6
  • Week 4 – Ravenna defeated Shelby 56-14
  • Week 5 – Shelby defeated Hesperia 30-25
  • Week 6 – Shelby defeated Holton 2-0 (Forfeit)
  • Week 7 – Manistee defeated Shelby 62-14
  • Week 8 – Mason County Central defeated Shelby 56-26
  • Week 9 – Orchard View defeated Shelby 34-29
