Tomarion Steward, Junior, Mona Shores Football
The junior with multiple division one offers has been running wild all season. In the win on Friday, Steward surpassed the 1,000 rushing yard mark. Steward also ran one in for a touchdown that would cap off a 28-0 shutout against Traverse City West in the division two pre-district.
TJ Byard, Senior, North Muskegon Football
North Muskegon defeated Evart in Friday’s pre-district game. In that game Byard went nuts, catching three passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Byard is the number one target for his QB, Bryce Colbert. The Norse now face McBain in the division 7 district final.
Luka Hammond, Sophomore, Grand Haven Cross Country
Hammond who is only a sophomore for the Bucs, had the best showing at the state finals in our coverage area. Competing in a strong division one race, Hammond placed 5th with a time of 15:19.
