Cale Coppess, Montague
The undefeated Montague standout wrestler competed at the Lloyd Cogswell Memorial Invitational last Saturday. The senior won his flight in the 135 weight class and finished 5-0 on the day to improve to 19-0 overall. Coppess is the leading wrestler for the Wildcats who continue to improve at each event. Montague had four individual champions at the event.
Garrett Wever, Oakridge
The senior guard for Oakridge had an influential performance early last week as Oakridge picked up their first conference victory against Mason County Central. Wever paced the Eagles with 21 points, 9 boards, and 4 assists against the Spartans. Additionally, the three year varsity player had 8 points in a tough loss against rival Ravenna later in the week.
Camden Thompson, Whitehall
As a freshman, Thompson participated in the first two basketball games of his varsity career last week. The young gun missed his first five games after suffering a preseason ankle injury. Thompson led the Vikings in both league wins last week. Thompson scored 9 points in their rivalry matchup with Montague, and caught fire at Hart where he scored a co-game high 27 points.
