Watch heartfelt video of Hart’s highly successful, retiring husband-wife cross country coaches

Terry and Linda Tatro have guided the Pirates girls and boys to a combined six state titles in 25 years.

LUDINGTON — Each “last” continues to prove more difficult than the one before it in the farewell tour of Hart cross country coaches Terry and Linda Tatro.

The Tatros are retiring at the end of this season, following 25 years guiding the Pirates’ powerhouse program.

The Tatros led Hart to five straight Division 3 girls state championships 2017-2021. Last year, they directed Hart’s boys team to its first-ever state championship.

Tuesday’s West Michigan Conference Mega Meet was one of those emotional checkpoints for the Tatros, who have the regional at the end of next week and the state finals the following week.

CatchMark SportsNet’s Scott DeCamp caught up with the Tatros at the Mega Meet. Watch a heart-felt video with the Tatros at the top of this story.
