Retiring Mason County Central football coach reflects on more than 2 1/2 decades on the sideline.

WHITEHALL — Scott Briggs has seen it all in his 26 years as Mason County Central’s head football coach.

He’s retiring from that position after serving as the longest-tenured head football coach in the West Michigan Conference and even across the Mason/Muskegon/Oceana county areas.

On Monday (May 15, 2023), Briggs reflected on his coaching career as a guest on Season 4 Episode 8 of the CatchMark Sports Podcast.

Briggs joined co-hosts Brent Raeth and Jon Russell for a discussion on many topics, including Briggs’ background, what he’s seen as a head coach over the years and what advice he has for successor David Smith.
