WHITEHALL — Caden Bowyer does not act or look like most 15-year-olds.
The Whitehall High School sophomore has been through more than most. He is a cancer survivor, who looks healthy as can be now at 6-foot-3, 235 pounds.
Bowyer has a maturity and perspective about him that belies his age. On Monday night, he shared his story as the featured guest on Season 5 Episode 4 of the CatchMark SportsNet Podcast. He was joined on the podcast by his mother, Carrie Kelsch, and his Whitehall junior varsity football coach, Dan Meinert.
Bowyer & Co. spoke about his cancer battle and a recent, unforgettable Make-A-Wish experience with the Detroit Lions that still makes Bowyer smile from ear to ear. We got to know Bowyer and more about his future goals.

Thank you Scott for a beautiful and uplifting interview. Caden, you have a great future in front of you. Carrie, what a fine, upstanding young Caden is and hats off to you and your husband. That was a hell of thing you all went through. Your strenght and prayers of EVERYONE were with you all of you.
Coach Meinert has been through a simular experience that required a lot of fortitude and strength. But he had good people around him too. I wish you all the best the rest of this season and your future with the Whitehall Football program.
