Weekly Coaches Show with Ravenna fun for host but also ‘real, authentic’ and heartfelt

Cody Kater enjoys time with Bulldogs coach Justin Ego, senior Hunter Hogan and junior Drew Mabrito.

It’s a big week for Ravenna’s football team, but Bulldogs head coach Justin Ego, senior Hunter Hogan and junior Drew Mabrito made time to come up to Whitehall for the VanDyk Mortgage West Michigan Conference Weekly Coaches Show.

You will not want to miss this one.

Host Cody Kater enjoyed his time with the Ravenna trio. The topics were many, as per usual, but the show revealed some “real, authentic” and heartfelt moments. Much of that centered around Bulldogs senior Keigen Swan, who returned to the field last Friday for the first time since he was diagnosed with leukemia 11 months ago.

Ravenna (5-1 overall, 4-0 WMC Rivers Division) has a huge game against North Muskegon (5-1, 3-0) this Friday at Fred Jacks Memorial Field in North Muskegon. The winner will be in the driver’s seat for the WMC Rivers Division title.

It’s the North Grove Brewers WMC Game of the Week. CatchMark SportsNet will produce a free livestream as part of the comprehensive coverage of the contest. Check it out on the CatchMark SportsNet YouTube channel.

Watch the video at the top of this story to hear from Kater and his Ravenna guests.

North Muskegon coach Larry Witham, senior Sam Gallo and sophomore James Young were highlighted on the Coaches Show last week.
