Welcome to the CatchMark SportsNet: Player of the Week, where we celebrate the unsung heroes and rising stars who light up the local sports scene! Each week, we put the spotlight on three extraordinary athletes who not only rack up impressive stats but also inspire their teammates and elevate their game.

At the end of this article, you’ll find a poll where you can cast your vote for the athlete you believe deserves the title of Player of the Week. The poll will be open for one week, starting today and ending on the following Friday (December 20th, 2024). Mallory Miller, Senior, Mason County Central Girls Basketball

Miller has been splashing threes to start her senior season night in and night out. In the Spartans game against North Muskegon last Tuesday, Miller scored a game-high 25 points. 12 of those 25 points came in the first quarter. More recently, Miller netted six triples against Holton and finished with 24 points.

Carter Rottman, Senior, Fremont Boys Bowling

Rottman has led his Fremont bowling squad to a win over Orchard View last Wednesday. Rottman bowled a 203 which resulted in a game high.

Kal Koehler, Senior, Whitehall Boys Basketball

Koehler has been a stable point in the Whitehall basketball system for the last few seasons. On Friday night, Whitehall took care of rival Montague 74-34. Koehler dropped 21 points for the Vikings. On the season, the senior posts 14 PPG as well as bringing down five RPG.

Myles Welch joined CatchMark in February 2024 as a CatchMark SportsNet Intern. He would like to become a sports broadcaster or analyst. He currently attends Whitehall High School and will graduate in 2025.
