CatchMark SportsNet: Player of the Week (Week of January 6th – January 10th)

Welcome to the CatchMark SportsNet: Player of the Week, where we celebrate the unsung heroes and rising stars who light up the local sports scene! Each week, we put the spotlight on three extraordinary athletes who not only rack up impressive stats but also inspire their teammates and elevate their game.

At the end of this article, you’ll find a poll where you can cast your vote for the athlete you believe deserves the title of Player of the Week. The poll will be open for one week, starting today and ending on the following Friday (January 10th, 2024). Spread the word, share this article, and rally your friends and family to vote for their favorite athlete! Let’s make some noise and show our local sports stars the appreciation they deserve!

James Martin, Junior, Muskegon Boys Basketball

Martin, who played a vital role last year as a sophomore continues to impress this year for the Big Reds as a junior. Most recently, Muskegon hosted Ferndale, winning 69-33. Martin held the game-high of 18 points.

Addi Hovey, Senior, Hart Girls Basketball

Hovey has been a staple point for the Hart girls program the past few seasons. She poses an elite three level scoring threat coupled with a veteran defensive effort. In its win against Mason County Central last week, Hovey finished with 19 points and nine steals.

DayDay Williams, Senior, Fruitport Boys Basketball

Williams has been on fire for a (6-2) Trojan team coming off of a 71-59 win over Comstock Park. In that game Williams led all scorers with 19 big ones. Through eight games Willams averages 15.5 PPG, 4.2 APG, and 6.2 RPG.
