Landin Sowa Leads All Scorers to Help Manistee Beat Hesperia 54-41

Manistee jumps to (3-7) after win against Hesperia.

MANISTEE – The Mariners hosted the Panthers Monday night in a WMC-Lakes vs. WMC-Rivers matchup.

Landin Sowa scored a game-high 14 points, Chaos Davis added 13 points followed by Kaden Kott with 10 points to propel Manistee past Hesperia 54-41.

Hesperia was led by Jared Tanner who notched 12 points. Ethan O’Neil finished with a double-double, 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Panthers.

Even in the win, Manistee head coach Zachary Bialik spots some flaws for the Mariners to work on. “Not our cleanest game, need to be better at not turning the ball over and a better job of limiting the opponent to one shot per possession.”

TAKEAWAYS

MANISTEE: The Mariners played well enough defensively to disrupt any kind of momentum Hesperia gained. Three players in double digits show how explosive they can be on offense.

HESPERIA: As much as Manistee tried to run away from Hesperia in the second half, they couldn’t prevail. The Panthers showed improved resiliency compared to last week’s 32-point loss to Ravenna.

LOOKING AHEAD

MANISTEE: Hosts Montague – January 10th

HESPERIA: Away at Hart – January 10th
