Player of the Week

Hart’s Abby Hicks adds another Player of the Week honor to her 2022-23 resume

Pirates junior softball standout also earned the distinction during basketball season.

Abby Hicks was instrumental as a playmaking point guard in the Hart girls basketball team’s historic run to the Breslin Center for the Division 3 state semifinals.

Turns out, the Pirates junior is pretty good in softball as well.

Just like the winter sports season, Hicks has been voted a CatchMark SportsNet West Michigan Conference Player of the Week for 2023 spring sports.

Hicks is winner of this week’s fan poll, which recognized six WMC spring sports student-athletes for their performances in events that took place April 24-29, 2023.

Hicks finished with 1,200 of 3,346 total votes in the poll. Holton softball player Abbie Fowler, who had a monster game last week with two home runs and 10 RBIs, was runner-up in the poll with 904 votes.
