Ludington runner Annabelle Lowman wins Player of Week poll for Oct. 30-Nov. 4, 2023

Freshman shatters PR time en route to 14th-place finish at cross country state finals, leads Orioles to seventh as team.

One glance at Annabelle Lowman’s profile on Athletic.net shows how much she continued to improve throughout her freshman cross country season with Ludington this fall.

Lowman saved her best for last, shattering her personal record en route to an all-state finish at the MHSAA Division 2 state finals last Saturday.

Lowman posted another impressive number this week: Her votes in the CatchMark SportsNet West Michigan Conference Player of the Week fan poll.

Lowman finished with 2,190 of 4,911 total votes in the poll, which highlighted six WMC fall sports athletes for their performances spanning Oct. 30-Nov. 4, 2023. Whitehall football player Kyle Stratton was runner-up with 1,248 votes.

Lowman picked a great time to post her PR. She ran a time of 18:26.2, her personal best by more than 42 seconds, en route to placing 14th in the MHSAA Division 2 cross country state finals Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. She led Ludington to a seventh-place finish as a team in the event.
