Ravenna Rolls to GMAA Title Behind Dominant Pitching and Relentless Lineup

The 2026 GMAA softball tournament showcased one clear theme: dominance. From explosive offensive outbursts to lights-out pitching performances, the weekend belonged to Ravenna, as the Bulldogs powered their way through the field and capped it with a statement win in the championship game.

Ravenna outscored its opponents 39-2 on the day, combining elite pitching with a deep, dangerous lineup that never gave opposing teams a break. The result was a perfect run through the tournament and a convincing reminder of why the Bulldogs are ranked among the best teams in the state.

Bulldogs Shut Down Rockets in Championship Statement

The most defining moment of the tournament came in the championship game, where Ravenna shut out two-time defending champion Reeths-Puffer, 9-0.

Natalie Rosel was dominant in the circle, striking out 11 while allowing just four hits in a complete-game shutout. She controlled the game from start to finish, never allowing the Rockets to find any offensive rhythm.

At the plate, Ravenna’s lineup delivered once again. Riley Homoly led the charge with a 3-for-4 performance that included a double and a triple, while Sydney Morrissey added two hits, a double, and three RBIs. Contributions came throughout the lineup, highlighting the depth that has made Ravenna so difficult to beat.

The Bulldogs backed up their pitching with solid defense and timely hitting, pulling away as the game progressed and leaving no doubt about the outcome.

For the rest of the field, including a strong Reeths-Puffer squad, the path forward is clear: to compete for a title this season, they’ll likely have to find a way to slow down one of the most complete teams in the state.
