Time for another CatchMark SportsNet West Michigan Conference Player of the Week fan poll.

Nominees have been selected and the fan poll created for Player of the Week, which is title sponsored by Complete Restoration & Cleaning Services, Inc.

We need your votes.

Six winter sports athletes from the conference who stood out in competitions Feb. 19-24, 2024, have been nominated by CatchMark SportsNet. Student-athletes who have already won Player of the Week honors this season are not eligible to be in the fan poll.

Time for you to vote, over and over. The poll can be found at the bottom of this story after brief capsules on the nominees. You may vote once per hour. The poll closes at noon Friday, March 1.

MATT ANTON, Ravenna bowling

The Bulldogs senior captured a Division 4 individual regional championship Friday at Northway Lanes with a total score of 1158. Anton shot games of 181, 206, 220, 160, 179, and 212. During the regular season, he averaged 162. This week, he will compete in the state finals at Northway Lanes with his Ravenna team on Friday and individually on Saturday.

JESSICA BENNETT, Fremont basketball

The versatile 6-foot senior paced an extremely balanced effort in Fremont’s 82-54 home victory over visiting Manistee Friday. The win clinched the Packers at least a share of the WMC Lakes Division title. Bennett led the way with 19 points, seven rebounds, and seven blocks. Fremont entered this week with a 16-4 overall record and 11-0 mark in the WMC Lakes, hosting Ludington Tuesday with the outright title on the line.

EMMALEE FOX, Holton bowling

The Red Devils junior had a big day in Friday’s Division 4 individual regional at Northway Lanes. Fox set a school record by rolling a 236. She finished as regional runner-up with scores of 140, 160, 159, 153, 263, and 163 for a total of 1011. This week, she will compete in the state finals at Northway Lanes with her Holton team on Friday and individually on Saturday.

EMMA HERREMANS, Ravenna bowling

The Bulldogs junior claimed a Division 4 individual regional championship Friday at Northway Lanes with a total score of 1013. Herremans shot games of 193, 151, 138, 169, 177, and 185. She averaged 148 during the regular season. This week, she will compete in the state finals at Northway Lanes with his Ravenna team on Friday and individually on Saturday.

WYATT JENKINS, Whitehall wrestling

Jenkins took the mat on Friday for the first time this season, seven months to the day after breaking his neck at a football camp, and he looked like he never skipped a beat. The junior wasted little time making his mark in the state quarterfinals, pinning his Gladstone opponent in one minute in the 190-pound bout. In the 215-pound bout of the state semifinals Saturday against Clinton, Jenkins pinned his foe in 1:38. In the 190-pound bout of the state finals Saturday against Dundee, he pinned his opponent in 3:39.

DAVID SHILLINGER, Ludington basketball

The 5-foot-9 senior guard continues to break records in an Orioles uniform. In Friday’s 65-55 nonleague home win over Benzie Central, Shillinger scored 41 points to break the Mason County boys scoring record. Now with 1,703 career points, Shillinger broke the record previously held by Mason County Eastern’s Steve Griswold, who set the record in 1992 by finishing with 1,701 points.
