Watch Episode 2 of ‘Behind the Helmet: 2023 Reeths-Puffer Football’ three-part series

MUSKEGON — Family sticks together through the good times and bad times.

Reeths-Puffer’s football team often breaks huddles with the word “family.” The Rockets have banded together in the grind of training camp and through the ups and downs of the first four weeks of the season.

“Family” is the title of Episode 2 of CatchMark SportsNet’s “Behind the Helmet” three-part series on the 2023 Reeths-Puffer football team. The series features behind-the-scenes footage of the Rockets created in the style of HBO’s “Hard Knocks.” You can watch the video at the top of this story.

Reeths-Puffer senior lineman Brooks Johnson and senior quarterback Antrel Jones are focal points of Episode 2. They come from differing backgrounds and have different roles on the team, but they’ve formed a bond as Rockets teammates.

Reeths-Puffer took care of business in the first two weeks, winning road games against Grand Haven (41-13) and Farmington (34-18).

R-P ran into a road block in its third straight road game, falling to Mona Shores (28-10) in the first of two big crosstown showdowns. R-P rebounded nicely Friday in its home opener against Holland (62-21).

This week is another big one for the Rockets. Reeths-Puffer (3-1) hosts the other benchmark program in the city when Muskegon (2-2) makes a vist to Rocket Stadium for a 7 p.m. Friday matchup.
