Watch Episode 3 of ‘Behind the Helmet: 2023 Reeths-Puffer Football’ three-part series

MUSKEGON — The theme for the 2023 Reeths-Puffer football season is “Heed the Call.”

Seems like a fitting title for Episode 3, the final episode of CatchMark SportsNet’s three-part series titled “Behind the Helmet: 2023 Reeths-Puffer Football.”

The series features behind-the-scenes footage of the Rockets created in the style of HBO’s “Hard Knocks.” You can watch Episode 3 at the top of this story.

Reeths-Puffer second-year head football coach Cody Kater and senior defensive end Max Dibble are focal points of the final episode. At Reeths-Puffer, Kater saw an opportunity to help restore pride in the program and impact the lives of young men. Dibble, meanwhile, was expelled from Reeths-Puffer but football has helped keep him on the right track.

On the field, this episode focuses on Reeths-Puffer’s home games against Holland and city rival Muskegon. The Rockets rolled past Holland, 62-21, in their home opener but fell to the Big Reds, 28-13, the following week.

Game filming for this series ended with the Muskegon showdown, but Reeths-Puffer has gotten back on the winning track since then with two straight blowout victories over Grand Rapids Union (48-7) and Wyoming (45-12).

The Rockets (5-2 overall) visit Zeeland East this Friday and wrap up the regular season next Friday at home against Zeeland West.
