WHITEHALL — Whitehall’s Maggie Evans needed one goal against Oakridge Thursday night to reach 100 for her career.

The senior forward got it to break a scoreless tie with 22:39 left in the first half, and that’s all the host Vikings needed in a 5-0 victory over the Eagles. Evans added another goal to give her 101 for her career and 22 on the season.

Last spring, Evans scored 31 goals en route to shattering sister Hanna’s career record at Whitehall (76). Consider that Maggie Evans lost out on more opportunities when her sophomore season in 2020 was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Charley Klint notched a goal and an assist for Whitehall (5-5 overall, 5-1 West Michigan Conference) on Thursday, while Ava Garcia and Ashley TenBrink added goals. Marissa Strandberg recorded two assists for the Vikings, while Brie Hamann registered the shutout in goal.
