WHITEHALL — In less-than-ideal baseball conditions, Will Chye had a day to remember in Mason County Central’s West Michigan Conference sweep of host Whitehall Monday.

The junior hit the go-ahead home run in the seventh inning and pitched a three-hitter in Game 1, and he doubled twice in Game 2 as the Spartans completed the sweep in 45-degree temperatures.

Mason County Central won 3-1 and 5-2, respectively, as Chye totaled four hits, four runs and two RBIs on the day. On the mound, the right-hander struck out eight and walked two in his complete-game effort.
