Big-time performances, clutch moments, and dominant showings set the stage for a loaded Player of the Week race. Across the diamond and the pitch, this week’s top athletes didn’t just put up numbers, they took over games when it mattered most. Whether it was overpowering elite competition in the circle, delivering in pressure-packed at-bats, or fueling explosive offensive runs on the soccer field, these nominees made their presence impossible to ignore. Now, the spotlight turns to three standout performers, Ravenna’s Natalie Rosel, Spring Lake’s Maddux Kipling, and Fremont’s Esther Vissia, who separated themselves in a week full of incredible efforts.

Natalie Rosel – Ravenna Softball

Ravenna’s Natalie Rosel turned in a dominant week against some of the toughest competition in the area, leading the Bulldogs to an undefeated stretch that included wins over Rockford, Wayland, Traverse City Central, Midland Dow, and Grand Haven. The junior ace consistently controlled games in the circle, piling up strikeouts while limiting hits and issuing virtually no walks in key matchups. She delivered multiple standout performances, including shutting down high-powered lineups and earning wins in pressure situations. Rosel also contributed at the plate, helping fuel an offense that supported Ravenna’s perfect run. Her combination of consistency, dominance, and success against top-tier opponents makes her the clear frontrunner for Player of the Week.

Maddux Kipling – Spring Lake Baseball

Spring Lake’s Maddux Kipling delivered a complete, all-around performance in a huge week for the Lakers, impacting the game both on the mound and at the plate. Kipling came through in clutch moments, highlighted by a three-run double that tied a game late against Grand Haven before he later scored the go-ahead run. He followed that up with a massive offensive showing, collecting three hits and driving in five runs in the second game of the doubleheader. On the mound, Kipling continued his dominant stretch with multiple shutout performances, establishing himself as one of the top two-way players in the area. His ability to take over games in every phase makes him one of the strongest Player of the Week candidates.

Esther Vissia – Fremont Girls Soccer

Fremont’s Esther Vissia put together an explosive offensive week, leading the Packers with a string of dominant performances in conference play. Vissia recorded a hat trick and added an assist in an 8-0 victory over Ravenna, then followed it up with another standout outing that included two goals and two assists in a second 8-0 win over Manistee. Her ability to consistently create scoring opportunities and finish chances powered Fremont’s attack and helped the team secure key conference victories. Vissia’s production, playmaking, and leadership on the field made her one of the most impactful players across all sports this week.
