It was a packed week of competition for area boys golf teams, featuring conference jamborees, invitationals, and the always challenging Greater Muskegon Athletic Association (GMAA) tournament. Weather played a major factor throughout the week, from gusty winds to steady rain, testing golfers across every event.
GMAA Tournament (Chase Hammond Golf Course)
The GMAA tournament brought together teams from across Muskegon County for one of the most demanding events of the season at Chase Hammond Golf Course.
Golfers battled through cold temperatures, steady rain, and soaked course conditions, creating one of the toughest scoring environments of the year. Despite the elements, several teams and individuals delivered impressive performances.
Mona Shores captured the team title with a score of 310, continuing its dominance in the event. The Sailors were led by Cruz Beckstrom, who earned medalist honors for the second straight year with a 1-under 71. Teammate Brady Volkmann followed with a 74, while Eddie Kuznar added an 80, giving Mona Shores three of the top individual finishes.
