It’s Week 2 of the CatchMark SportsNet West Michigan Conference Player of the Week fan poll for 2023 spring sports.

Six spring sports athletes from the conference who stood out in competitions April 10-15 have been nominated.

Time to get voting.

The poll can be found at the bottom of this story after brief capsules on the nominees. The poll closes at noon Friday, April 21.

Athletes are listed alphabetically:

KYAN CLARK, Hart baseball

The senior had two monster games at the plate for the Pirates last week. In a 19-1 victory over Pentwater Tuesday, Clark clubbed two home runs and a double to go along with seven RBIs. In a 15-0 win over Lake City Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader, he went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and seven RBIs.

EMMA GILLARD, Ravenna softball

The Bulldogs senior made an impact all over the field again as her team captured the Kubasiak Memorial Tournament title Saturday at Ravenna. Gillard was 3-for-3 with a triple in a victory over Grant (10-1), she earned the pitching win with three strikeouts and one walk vs. Coopersville (4-1) plus had a hit, and she went 2-for-3 with a triple in the title game against Cedar Springs (4-1).

HANNAH GLANVILLE, Ludington girls tennis

The Orioles junior enjoyed a dominant week at No. 1 singles, finishing with a combined 6-0 record in three events. Glanville went 2-0 Monday in a tri-meet, in which Ludington lost to Cadillac (5-3) and beat Mount Pleasant (6-2). She rolled to victory Wednesday in the Orioles’ win over neighboring Manistee (7-1). On Saturday, Glanville claimed three wins as Ludington rolled to the title in the Ludington Invitational.

MAELIE HOPE, Whitehall girls track and field

The Vikings senior turned in an eye-popping performance in the Fruitport Invitational Friday. She won the 100-meter dash with a personal-record time fo 12.99 seconds and took third in the 200 dash with a PR of 27.50 seconds. In shot put, Hope took first place with a heave of 40 feet, 8 inches. In discus, she established a PR of 153 feet, which is easily the best in the state this season per Athletic.net.

BEN MEYERS, North Muskegon baseball

One of the top catchers in the area, the Norsemen junior did the job at the plate as his team earned two wins Saturday at the East Kentwood Invitational. In a 6-4 victory over Grandville Calvin Christian, Meyers went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. In a 15-10 win over East Kentwood, he finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored, an RBI and two walks.

KILLIAN PREWITT, Fremont boys golf

The Packers junior took first place in the first West Michigan Conference Lakes Division jamboree of the season last Wednesday at Stonegate Golf Club. Prewitt shot 38 in the nine-hole event, beating the rest of the field by three strokes. As a team, Fremont shot 187 to finish second behind Manistee, which fired 168.
