After a two-week break around the holidays, the CatchMark SportsNet West Michigan Conference Player of the Week fan poll has returned.
Nominees have been selected and the fan poll created for Player of the Week, which is title sponsored by Complete Restoration & Cleaning Services, Inc.

Six winter sports athletes from the conference who stood out in competitions Jan. 2-6, 2024, have been nominated by CatchMark SportsNet.
Time for you to vote, over and over. The poll can be found at the bottom of this story after brief capsules on the nominees. The poll closes at noon Friday, Jan. 12.

LAYLA CANNADY, Holton basketball
The Red Devils senior enjoyed a break-out night in her team’s 55-42 victory over visiting Shelby in WMC Rivers Division action last Thursday. Cannady scored a game-high 18 points with the help of four 3-pointers in Holton’s balanced attack. With their fifth straight win, the Red Devils improved to 6-1 overall on the season.
LAMARKIS GRAHAM, North Muskegon basketball
The 6-foot-2 senior wing put together two strong performances in a pair of blowout wins last week as the Norsemen remained unbeaten on the season. In Wednesday’s 55-33 nonleague home victory over West Michigan Aviation Academy, Graham finished with 15 points and six rebounds. In Friday’s 72-34 rout of host Hart in WMC Rivers Division action, he poured in a game-high 27 points.
ABBY HICKS, Hart basketball
The 5-foot-7 senior combo guard led a very balanced team effort in Hart’s 42-31 home victory over Mason County Central in a crucial WMC Rivers Division matchup last Thursday. Three players scored in double figures for the Pirates with a fifth player adding eight. Hicks, who recently announced her commitment to Alma College, packed the stat sheet with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.
KAL KOEHLER, Whitehall basketball
The 6-foot-4 junior forward delivered throughout the game and in crunch time in Friday’s 64-62 victory over host Ludington in a pivotal WMC Lakes Division game. Koehler finished with a game-high 20 points, including making a pair of free throws in the closing seconds to seal the win. He also grabbed 11 rebounds to go with one steal and one block as the Vikings remained unbeaten.
IVAN LARA, Hart wrestling
The Pirates’ senior 215-pounder is coming off a big week on the mats. Lara finished 5-0 last week, including winning his weight class in the challengin Falcon Invite Saturday in Allendale. He defeated the Division 2 seventh-ranked wrestler in the finals. That improved Lara’s season record to 18-2.
ABBY THOMMEN, Montague wrestling
The Wildcats senior, who finished runner-up in the Lady Mat Cat Showcase on Dec. 29, continued to wrestle well last week. Last Wednesday, Thommen was one of three Montague wrestlers to go 2-0 in a WMC boys tri-meet against Hart and Shelby. Her 12-1 major-decision win at 126 pounds clinched her team’s 46-32 dual victory over Shelby.

I would like to know how the percentages on one student has gone down. Yesterday 1-11-24 it was higher than it is now ???
