WMC boys basketball: Shelby downs Holton in thriller; Hart slides by Hesperia

Shelby and Hart pick up nonleague victories Monday night

SHELBY 43, HOLTON 40: At Holton, the visiting Tigers struggled out of the gate, trailing 4-12 after one quarter. A momentum shift allowed for Shelby to bounce back before half cutting the deficit to one point at the break. In the fourth quarter, the Tigers outscored the Red Devils 16-10 to earn the win.

Bishop Lee 17 points, 9 rebounds

Joseph Hayes 16 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists

Carson Claeys 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists

HART 60, HESPERIA 50: At Hesperia, the visiting Pirates seemed to find their offensive groove outscoring the Panthers 31-24 in the first half. Hesperia was able to close the gap to one point in the third, but Hart pulled away to earn a victory down the stretch. The Pirates marked a season-high 14 assists on the night and dropped in eight 3-pointers.

Kory Charron 10 points, 5 rebounds
