Keen Patterson, Senior, Ludington Baseball
Patterson delivered the game-winning RBI in the district semifinal on Saturday against Chippewa Hills. He finished the game 2-4 with two RBIs. In the championship game, Patterson tallied one hit out of the three hole and helped the Orioles hoist their first district title since 2006.
Trevor Rusnak, Junior, Fruitport Baseball
Rusnak got the nod in the district final against Whitehall, just a game after knocking off Oakridge in the first round. The senior tossed a complete game giving up just four hits and struck out five hitters. Rusnak also notched a hit in the game and has been vital in the Trojan lineup all season.
Valerie Beeck, Senior, Grand Haven Girls Track
Beeck has been one of the best runners in the state her whole high school career and that finally went on display one last time this past weekend at the state finals meets. Beeck finished second place in the 800m, and 3rd place in the 1600m. The senior was also a part of the 4x400m relay team that took ninth place on Saturday.
