Camden Thompson, Senior, Whitehall Track

Thompson is the Vikings quarterback in the fall, an all-state hooper in the winter, and the latest state qualifier in the 110m hurdles for track. This past Friday, Thompson set his personal best in the event with a time of 15.16 and received first place at the Allegan Invitational. The senior also competes in high jump and had a 6’6″ height at the invitational.

Mason Darke, Junior, Reeths-Puffer Track

The junior track standout broke the school record in the 300m hurdles last Friday at the Ram Classic. With a time of 38.93, Darke took second place and his name in the Rocket record books. Last Tuesday in a duel against Mona Shores, Darke had a personal best 14.94 time in the 110m, where he is working to add another school record.

Eli Petersen, Junior, Montague Baseball

Against his rival last Tuesday, Peterson struck out 14 batters, scattered across seven innings, allowing just one hit and earning the win. The righty has been dealing all season for the Wildcats as he sliced through the Viking lineup Tuesday, helping Montague earn a doubleheader sweep.

Myles Welch joined CatchMark in February 2024 as a CatchMark SportsNet Intern. He would like to become a sports broadcaster or analyst. He currently attends Whitehall High School and will graduate in 2025.
