Welcome to the CatchMark SportsNet: Player of the Week, where we celebrate the unsung heroes and rising stars who light up the local sports scene! Each week, we put the spotlight on three extraordinary athletes who not only rack up impressive stats but also inspire their teammates and elevate their game.

At the end of this article, you’ll find a poll where you can cast your vote for the athlete you believe deserves the title of Player of the Week. The poll will be open for one week, starting today and ending on the following Friday (May 9th, 2025). Ryan Bosch, Senior, Fruitport Baseball

In the GMAA tournament, Bosch was on fire at the plate and on the rubber. In the Trojans first game of the tournament, Bosch went 2-3 and in game two he knocked in two RBIs. In the GMAA championship, Bosch parked a homer and pitched six innings striking out 15 batters.

Abbie Critchett, Senior, Reeths-Puffer Softball

Much like Bosch, Critchett dominated for her team has they marched their way to a GMAA championship. Critchett went 3-4 out of the lead-off spot in the opening round. Then, in the title game, she added yet another 3-4 day at the plate with two homers, one inside-the-park homerun, and one that made its way over the wall.

Josalynn Nowicki, Sophomore, Fruitport Tennis

Another outstanding performance in the GMAA tournament makes this list. Nowicki placed first in the one singles bracket on Saturday after defeating both one singles players from West Michigan Christian and Mona Shores. The sophomore boasts a 13-2 record overall and is on a four-match winning streak.

Myles Welch joined CatchMark in February 2024 as a CatchMark SportsNet Intern. He would like to become a sports broadcaster or analyst. He currently attends Whitehall High School and will graduate in 2025.
