BOYS BASKETBALL
Whitehall, North Muskegon both remain unbeaten
Whitehall pushed its record to 20-0 and clinched a share of the WMC Lakes Division title with a 71-62 victory over Ludington in a packed Whitehall gym Friday night.

Individual regional wrestling tournaments were held for boys on Saturday and for girls on Sunday at various locations. The top four finishers in each weight class at each regional advance to the March 1-2 state finals at Ford Field in Detroit. The West Michigan Conference will be well-represented.

Whitehall, Hart learn their quarterfinal opponents at team state finals
Wrestling teams from Whitehall and Hart earned Division 3 team regionals at their respective sites last Wednesday. On Sunday, the Vikings and Pirates learned who they’ll face at the team state finals this weekend at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo.
Whitehall won its eight team regional wrestling title in nine years last Wednesday in Division 3 action at Belding. Meanwhile, Hart won a fifth straight regional championship in Division 3 competition at Sanford Meridian.
Holton’s Ryann Robins achieves two milestones in one game
North Muskegon came away with a 41-31 victory over host Holton last Thursday, but Red Devils senior Ryann Robins achieved two milestones in the WMC Rivers Division girls basketball contest. In the first half, Robins reached the 1,000-point milestone in her career. In the second half, she became Holton’s all-time leading girls scorer.
Ravenna girls, Oakridge boys claim Greater Muskegon bowling titles
Ravenna’s girls team and Oakridge’s boys squad won Greater Muskegon Athletic Association bowling titles in their respective competitions last Wednesday at Northway Lanes.
Orchard View’s boys team and Ravenna’s girls squad won West Michigan Conference overall titles as league play wrapped up with the tournament last Monday at Northway Lanes.
Hart first, Mason County Central second at Division 3 district
Hart’s competitive cheer team seized a district title for the second straight year, while Mason County Central finished runner-up in the same Division 3 competiton Saturday at Grand Rapids West Catholic. Both teams will be represent the WMC in a regional this Saturday at Jenison.
